Re: Background Feedback on iPhone

Welcome fiona19, Yes, if you're going to use the built in speaker you must absolutely have input monitoring turned off for recording. But about the background noise issue, it sounds like it might be the internal compressors/eq that Apple uses. You can turn it off for multitrack in the Settings app, ...

Re: How to merge two sections after slicing

Welcome SoundMusic, apologies for the delay approving your post. Well, a slice doesn't actually modify the audio file, you can still move the start and end points of the regions. So you can just 'Edit' one of the regions (say the one on the right), and drag the leftmost handle to the left so that it...

Re: WIFI group select for bins and tracks

Welcome bojackey, Yeah the whole song is rebuilt each time a single track or bin is deleted, which isn't super fast. Having checkboxes with the standard "select all", "select none', etc and an action button 'delete selected' would be ideal. It gets complicated from a coding standpoint because those ...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i8: How todo four mono tracks? Only one possible.

Use the '>>>IN' button on an empty track to see all the possible input channels. Once a track is recorded with stereo it's not possible to record mono on it, so those mono input channels will not show up in the inputs list. But with empty tracks or mono tracks, you should be able to see all the mono...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i8: how to put output through the headphones, not monitors?

Welcome aliteralmind, MultiTrack will currently output to the first two outputs that CoreAudio defaults to, which is usually the main outputs on most gear that has more than two. I don't have a 18i8 to try, but there might be a way to switch it using a controlling app, for example the FireFace UCX i...

Re: Trim all tracks

Welcome CharlesStout I think the easiest way to do this, while keeping all tracks in sync, is to use the 'Slice' from the hotbox. A little known feature of multitrack is that if you do the Slice when "close" to the Playhead, the slice will be done at exactly the playhead location. So to use this tec...

Re: Disused tracks/identifying useful takes

Welcome DanDarlo, Well, you can delete unused Bins by going (Hotbox -> Audio -> Song -> Delete Unused Bins), but that won't make the raw filenames easier to read. Actually, the project in zip format, if you zip the project from within multitrack (Long-Touch song icon, tap zip icon) will be devoid of...

Re: Unable to arm tracks

Unfortunately IAA (Inter-App Audio) is a little buggy and fails to work sometimes depending on iOS version. Chances are it has something to do with samplerate differences between the various apps. Maybe try a multitrack project of 48kHz and see if tracks will arm with the AUM app selected? The iPhon...

Re: Recording onto two seperate tracks?

Yes, make 2 new tracks and use the '>>>IN' button on each to select the input channel each one is mapped to, and Arm them both. Try it on empty new tracks because once a track is stereo, it can't be armed for mono and vice versa. This will record 2 mono tracks with full independent control over the ...
