Failure to Mixdown

Post by chuckpuckett »

I have a very simple two track recording, gtr + vox. No matter what I do (just let 'er rip, or select both tracks, etc), when I mix down, it "finishes" immediately, and produces an empty m4a file.

I've not encountered this problem before. The only wrinkle so that these tracks are several minutes long (maybe 8-10)

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi chuckpuckett

Usually this is because a loop region is selected somewhere in the song. Try zooming fully out and scroll around to check for a vertical blue region with a circle at the top. If you see one, tap the ruler at the top and drag left to kill the loop markers.

MultiTrack was changed to only export what's in the loop markers, to make it easier to trim a song or export loops, however this feature seems to be causing problems like this. I'll have a rethink about this 'feature', probably should be an option in the export to use the loop markers or not.
