Some important features for mastering

Hello all and let me first say that multitrack is my daw of choice and I love it dearly.

I'm currently working on mixing and mastering an EP and I had several things come up I think would greatly facilitate mastering for us on the go musicians.

1) ability to mixdown to pasteboard (wav and m4a) for importation into other ios apps without either using iTunes sharing or emailing it to myself and using open as

2) mixdown to seperate tracks AND/OR option in wifi sharing to import track rails (rendering the silence at beginning) so when they are imported into other software everything LINES UP. I've muted everything track by track and mixdown with a silent backing track to preserve starting position but an option to render all at once separately and have them line up would be fairly simply (I think :-) and would greatly help speed things up

3) More EQ Points

Thanks again for the only serious non-ipad multitrack option. Its a lifesaver. Please so not take any of my suggestions as complaining. I am very very happy with multitrack.

Hi harisonzamperla, thanks for the nice words!

1) It's possible to mixdown to pasteboard. After creating the mixdown (Menu -> Export -> Mixdown), it will be in the Documents folder, but also accessible in multitrack (Hotbox -> Audio -> Shared). From there you can copy to the pasteboard and also 'Open In' to another app.

2) If you download the Tracks from Wi-Fi, they will have the silence rendered so they will line up in another daw. Perhaps you tried to download the Bins? The bins by themselves won't do this, only the tracks.

3) Nice suggestion. The effects system is being redone currently but won't be ready for a couple more months.

Ooh. If you're re jigging the effects can I add a couple of requests.

1. Wider Q on the sweepable filters.

2. Maybe separate sends for delay and reverb.

3. Pre/post track fader for the effect send. So if you're input monitoring via you're audio interface for zero latency you can still add a bit of reverb to the output bus (not record) by leaving MTD input monitoring on, track fader down, so no direct signal, just a bit of verb. The latency won't really matter hear as its just acting like pre-delay.

Hope that's not too greedy

Thanks for the response. I didn't realize rendering the tracks would render silence in as well that'd wonderful! So I have an idea for the EQ interface.

1) a look ahead limiter would be amazing to ensure the track isn't normalized because of one random loud noise (been using aufx:push)

2) An EQ with the ability to add control points anywhere and then have a list of generated points underneath with ability to adjust Q and gain would be wonderful. (Like apefilter but with a list underneath to control points gain/Q separately via knobs)

3) A real time pre/post monitor would also make mixing a lot easier. (I've used aufx eq for this purpose but in app would be great)

Thanks for making such an amazing app that amateurs and professionals can use.

Another feature to add would be a touch and hold for zoom similar to Audioshare.

That wouldn't work really since touch and hold is the hot menu and you can zoom by pinching already

Right, I just wanted to zoom in quickly instead of several swipes.
I edit large tracks a lot:
Zoom in to sample level.
Split track(s) at cursor.
Zoom all the way back out.
Roughly locate new splice point.
Repeat several hundred times.

Currently this can take me days or weeks.

I need a way to zoom to sample accurate level quickly and back to previous zoom point/level.
Why not just add it to the hotbox? (zoom in at cursor) which then switches to (zoom out to previous level) if already zoomed in.

Oh i see. Good idea. That would be useful.
