New Possible Future Feautures

Hi.

I use this app for a lot of my recordings which is probably 60% of the time. I am a songwriter and use it to get ideas, harmonies etc down and in most cases I use the audio from the app as the finished product.

There are a couple features I was wondering if they were coming in future updates. I love the app and it's simplisticness and don't know if these features have been left out for a reason.

-templates for sessions. Personalised or in app. With tracks and fx ready to go.

-Grouping tracks for 1 overall volume per group.

-freely move waveforms between tracks without copy and pasting

-exporting files made as whole files per track instead of all audio starting from zero when transferred to daws.

-some form of individual control over different reverb and delay settings per track.

I realise some or all may not be achievable incase it compromises the stability of the app but any answers would be great.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Welcome Robertdurhammusic
-templates for sessions. Personalised or in app. With tracks and fx ready to go.
It's possible to do a pseudo template using the Zip feature. Make a template song with all the tracks and effects set but don't record anything, then close the song and Long-Touch the icon, then tap the zip subicon. Now, whenever you need a song based on that template, just tap the zip.
-Grouping tracks for 1 overall volume per group.
Good suggestion! Folder Tracks sounds like it could be a good feature.
-freely move waveforms between tracks without copy and pasting
The issue was that tracks could be either mono or stereo, and the copy/paste solution already does the conversions if needed. I suppose dragging between similar tracks should be allowed and just disabled with a 'NO' or disabled icon when trying to drag to tracks with different number of channels. Mostly UI work in that case.
-exporting files made as whole files per track instead of all audio starting from zero when transferred to daws.
I've looked into this multiple times and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a good open format for DAWs. OMF probably comes the closest, but is riddled with weakness. I'm not about to add a massively overengineered buggy bloatware like AAF. I think maybe, something like the Reaper format could work.
-some form of individual control over different reverb and delay settings per track.
Originally it was because of resources, reverb and delay were expensive effects so devices could only support a single instance, thus they couldn't be track effects. And even with IAA, only a single instance is supported system wide. But things are looking up, with the new AudioUnits v3 and the exponentially increasing speeds, it's now possible to have multiple instances like a real plugin system. Stay tuned for more =)

+1 on the following requests:

- moving regions freely from track to track - major timesaver vs. copying / pasting / deleting
- ability to lower or raise volume on a region (not the same as a curve, unless the curve could be manipulated into a straight line that can be raised or lowered in the region)
- ability to paste right on top of an existing region (instead of having to cut part of that region to make an empty space available first)
- ability to zoom in and out at the sample level - another huge time saver when pasting regions adjacent to each other
- portrait mode on the iPhone like on the iPad. Would be so much more comfy for one-handed poking around, and to see more tracks in the screen
- delay effect at the track level, not at the bus level (is it common to apply the same delay setting on multiple tracks?)
- just one more eq point on the para eq

That is all (for now!). Excellent work. My favorite iOS DAW by far for its beautiful simplicity and aesthetic. Never lose that!

+1 from me! Folder Tracks and an increased number of tracks (say to 48 or 64 tracks) would practically solve our automation problem. :-)
