I have a song I'm working on with 5 tracks, is it possible to make a copy of this so I can try other things out without using this copy.

Yes, in a bit of an indirect way. If you Long-Touch the song icon, you'll get an option for zipping the song to an archive. Once this is done, simply tap the zipped song to unarchive a copy.
