Another iPhone Recording Blog
Posted: December 3rd, 3:22 pm
I got an iPhone in the early fall, in large part because of the recording and music apps. I was inspired by the Project52 Blog to set up a blog where I will experiment with iPhone recording and composing. I have released three CDs of original songs in the past 15 years. The first one was recorded at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, MN. Nirvana recorded in Utero there. In the mid-90s it was a very hot place to record. The following two albums have been recorded in my home studio, with some assists via the Internet from musicians on the last one.
I finally recorded a song on the iPhone last week using MultiTrack and have posted it on my blog via SoundCloud. I call the project iPhoniqFolk, as my songwriting tends to fall into folk, blues, old-time country, and singer-songwriter pop.

My website, http://www.fredgrittner.com lacks music clips at this time but they are available on iTunes and CDBaby. A major overhaul is in progress.
Feel free to post your comments to my blog. Unlike Project52, I won't be posting a new song every week, but I will try to keep trying MultiTrack with the various input options. My next posting will describe how I used the import tracks feature and will also discuss Mikey versus the internal mics when recording acoustic music
