iOS 13 - Sound Copy feature is broken

Post by Wandowaiato »

I love audio samples.
To collect them on the fly, the workflow I used to use up to iOS 12 was the following;

- liste to an audiobook with the audible app
- detect a cool phrase I want to work with in a DAW
- start the iOS build in screen capture
- press record
- skip to the right position in audible
- press play
- capture wanted scene
- stop record in screen caputure
- stop play in audible
- switch to ‚photos‘ where the captured clip appears as a mp4 video
- send to ,sound copy‘
- the extension asks for sample rate and depth
- open ‚audio share‘
- paste the clipboard content
- save audiofile

Since I upgraded to iOS 13 it won‘t work anymore. The lenght of the copied audio is always 00:00 min.
Any idea how to make it work again?
Tried to downgrade to iOS 12 ‚cause this workflow is essential for me, but didn‘t manage to do this.

Anyone knows a workaround?

Thanks for the report, I’ll look into this. I’m currently tracking a couple other iOS 13 related bugs of low priority. Could you check if it works to import the file directly into multitrack? From there you could trim and recopy, but I’m just curious because the import mechanism of SoundCopy and multitrack is using the same code.
