Crossfading?

Post by skiphunt »

I just bought this app almost 2 weeks ago and have been playing around with it. Very intuitive for the most part!

Your iTunes description says you can crossfade. How do you do this? Or fade in/out?

The crossfading in the app description refers to an automatic blending in/out of a region. It is a set time period of 128 samples and uses a cubic spline to reduce higher frequencies. For the fade in, the start point is basically the region start point, and the end point is 128 samples later. For the fade out, the start point is 128 samples before the region end point. So it's basically an automatic, very quick blending in and out of a region. Without this blending, you can hear popping artifacts when a region starts and stops.

The next version will have user adjustable fade points, it's almost ready...

Sorry, I don't know enough about audio to know what 128 samples... cubic splines, etc. means... but I get the fade in/outs I'm looking for aren't there and are coming soon. I really like the app though and am getting a good deal of use from it. Thanks.
