Import Bitrate

I'm bringing in some rhythm tracks from Garage Band and wondering if we can take advantage of the 24 Bit audio that GB exports. Are 24 bit audio files brought into MT DAW downsampled to 16?

Source files in multitrack are maintained as 16 bit, so they get converted on import. However internal processing is 24 bit, so that there is extra headroom available for mixing. The final plan for MultiTrack is to maintain 24 bit throughout, with the exception of the source files, and provide mastering capabilities at 24 bit and a final dither to 16 bit.

Very cool. I have a 24 bit recorder I use for field recordings so it will be great to edit these on iPad .
