USB AUDIO INPUT DEVICES

Post by anfirmor »

I see that Apogee have introduce the "Apogee Jam" which claims to work with iphone 4. It's a mono only guitar input device which connects to the iphone dock, so must be a digital/USB based unit. Their website also states that a USB microphone is coming shortly.

Anybody tried one of these with Multitrack DAW yet?

Looks like some decent (expensive) audio input toys are starting to appear but, as usual in the apple world, specs and manuals are annoyingly elusive. Don't suppose anyone has tried the camera connection kit on iphone 4 with the latest iOS?

The Apogee JAM works with MultiTrack on the iPad and the iPhone 4, via an included cable, which means you don't need the Camera connection kit.

So far, the JAM is the only product that can get a clean digital signal into the iPhone 4.

Unfortunately the iPhone 4 and iPod 4 doesn't work with Camera Connection kit which is iPad only. And the JAM doesn't work with the iPod 4 either for reasons that I can't possible fathom.
