I was wondering if anyone has tried connecting an iPad or iPhone cable to a USB Audio Interface using one of these "USB A Female To USB B Male adaptors:

The adapter fits on the USB end of the cable supplied with the iPad or iPhone. I thought it might be cheaper than buying Apple's USB Camera Connecting Kit.

Re: Using a USB A Female to USB B Male instead of Camera Kit
Definitely won't work. The Camera connection kit is actually an advanced piece of gear, and it's required to put the iPad into USB host mode (so the iPad can host usb peripherals).
Also, the Apple CCK is recommended, as some people have been having issues with the cheap CCK knockoffs from around the net. It's a bit more pricey, but worth it in terms of quality.
