Syncing Loops

Will someone please explain to me how to sync loops. Example: I import an 8 bar guitar wave that I want to extend to 16 bars. I copy it then paste it next to the track. I slide it over and no matter what I do it won't sync precicely to the original. It seems like this should be a basic and easy feature to implement. Thanks for any help.

How can I copy a drum loop or anything else paste it next to track and keep in sync. Trying to do this now ends up either having a gap between tracks or erasing part of original track. Please help.

Make sure Snap is turned on in the menu, and pull up the Tempo Controller (upper left) and change the tempo to match the loops tempo. If you don't know the loops tempo, it's pretty easy to match by zooming into the loop end point, and changing the songs tempo until it lines up.
