TASCAM US600 to Ipad2 Help Please

Post by Andyw »

I cannot get my Ipad2 to recognise my Tascam US600, the dialogue box either reads 'not supported' or 'requires power'.

I have seen many clips on YouTube of user with US600 or 800 working with IPad, so this must be possible, right?

Am I missing something? Is there a bug and or a fix?

All advice appreciated .

As far as I know the US-800 is the only one that works with the iPad unfortunately.

Thanks. Sounds definative, but why. Is there a significant difference in spec between the US600 and 800. Or if anyone knows any different ( he said hopeing against hope :-)

Works fine with MacBook by the way so still a good buy.

I was having a real similar issue with the new Tascam iu2 interface. It worked beautifully the first time I connected it and I recorded an amazing stereo acoustic guitar track using a Tascam stereo mic. I was so excited about the possibilities and came back a little while later to record some more. In between I had unplugged the interface so that a friend could take a listen outside of the headphones and when I re-connected I kept getting an error box saying cannot use, device not supported. I finally got ahold of someone at Tascam who knew of this and he told me that to to reboot my ipad2, then you MUST first connect your interface to your ipad2, THEN connect the power supply source. I don't know if that will solve your problem, but it fixed mine. Just a bit of protocol you have to follow when connecting. I was so relieved because I thought I was going to have to buy another interface! Hope this helps, it's certainly worth trying!
