cd burning questionia

I'm trying to get the best possible sound on my cd. What is the process from transferring from ipad2 to pc via itunes then burning at best possible levels? It seems that it sounds fine on my computer when using headphones and matches what I have on multitrack, but once burned, it sounds muddy when I put in a regular cd player. thanks

Mastering for different playback systems continues to be the holy grail of audio production. I think the best bet is to iterate a number of mixdowns with different bass responses and keep testing until you find a good tradeoff. It's helps if you can mimic the frequency response of the target system(s) with your monitoring/mixing setup.
