Good for podcasts?

Post by Dwaynelarose »

I have a podcast that I would like to edit on the go. It is usually about an hour long and the multi track feature would help with the production of the podcast.

My question is has anyone uploaded an hour long or greater file to this and edited it successfully?

Thanks!

MultiTrack can handle uploads of huge files, but filespace may become an issue with extended song lengths. MultiTrack uses an extra 24 bit stereo cache track which spans the entire length of the song, so in addition to the track you uploaded + overview data it can run out of space quickly. The cache track is the price we pay for having all those track simultaneously. For field recording, I would recommend FiRe. MultiTrack is intended for multiple tracks in parallel, so the amortized cost of the cache track gets better the more parallel tracks you add.
