EQ db control oddity

Post by grb »

Hi,

Trying to set the lower parametric gain control and when I reopen the FX panel it's pointing to it's lowest (or some other random position) every time... upon touching it leaps up to max. The high freq control seems ok.

Any ideas?

Trying the iPad 5.1.1, I find the same issue. If you set the lower EQ band negative and move to the 'Comp.' tab and back again the dB control is now at it's lowest, and when touched jumps to the max. setting - seems OK if you set a +ve dB setting. Weird ?

i can reproduce this behavior on iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1... and iPhone 4s, iOS 5.1.1
method to reproduce reliably for me:
open fx on a track>select EQ tab>decrease dB value on "lower mid range" parametric section(the one with a range setting from 50Hz to 1k5)>tap somewhere else on the screen to close fx tabs>re-open fx
result is behavior described in the first post. additional: the graphic representation of the original setting is retained until the dB knob is touched and resultant section is treated to 18dB kick in the Jimmi while retaining ones carefully selected Q, and frequency settings.
note: also works using the methodology described in the first post re: changing tabs- in place of closing fx tabs.

i have looked at some of my projects and found a few instances where the first part of this quirk had happened. the graphic representation seems accurate...the dB knob appears to show -16ish dB while the graphic showing -1.9dB seems to be what's actually happening. the 18dB "kick" shows on both knob, and graphic visually, and is audibly stunning.

thank you for sharing grb,

Don

This as been fixed in the current beta. The bug is just visual so once you get it adjusted it shouldn't affect the sound, thanks for the bug report.
