Pretty unhappy with new purchase

Post by mike3 »

Just bought Multitrack Daw because I realized I didn't have a DAW that is audiobus supported, which I also bought a few days ago. It seems Auria and Cubasis are not ready for prime time yet either, but at least they both have the following features....

So I've played with Multitrack for about three hours now. I've imported loops from Drumjam via audiobus. There is mention of a hotbox button called "move" but I haven't seen it yet. I can't move anything once it is initially placed. I imported a song from IPOD but I can't "move" it anywhere. It's stuck on the timeline where it pasted to.

Also there is the issue that I've searched this forum for and can't find any answer that seems to work. It's about the snap feature and lining up drum loops. I've turned the snap feature on, made sure my bpms match. I don't get it. Most frustrating DAW I've ever touched. When I copy and paste a loop it does not line up, nor does it even ask me where to paste it. It just puts it a little ahead of the marker and forces me to nudge it into place. Aha! the one time I'm allowed to move something is when the program can't figure out how to attach the next 4 bars?

None of the tutorials or help files seem to cover this. I guess that's why the question gets asked so often. I'm very upset, so no more rant.

One thing to make sure when using Snap, is that the ruler needs to be set to display Bars and not Seconds. To do this, open the Metronome Controller (upper left) and tap the right arrow until the Ruler displays the Bars/Beats. Now if the tempo is correct you will get perfect alignment. Apologies for your disappointment though, I'll work to make this UI more clear.
