Line 6 mobile in input level

I am using line 6 mobile in to record acoustic/electric guitars to DAW. The input levels are super low and need to be cranked in order to make a decent audible recording. Leaving no room to adjust levels in a mix. The internal mic picks up much better but had a tendency to clip easily. Is this typical of the lMobile in device? Or am I missing something? Any advice?

It's going to depend greatly on the type of mics plugged into the interface. Unfortunately I don't have a Mobile In for testing and unfamiliar with the preamps that it uses.

When recording with the internal mic, make sure to enable "Measurement Mode" in the system Settings app (Settings -> MultiTrack -> Measurement Mode -> On).
