Re: Irig
You can use the iRig, or anything else that iOS supports, with MultiTrack DAW. However I'm not recommending anything that plugs into the headset port for serious recording, as it has crosstalk. http://forum.harmonicdog.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6

Are you using an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad?Midman12 wrote:Thank you very much for the response. If Im just planning on recording myself , 1 instrument at a time, what interface will do for me then??
I'm bought the Focusrite 2i2 for use with my iPad 2. Very happy with it. Focusrite just released two newer ones: the iTrackSolo, which is made for iPad and the 2i4, which has midi in and a pad for hotter signals along with some cool monitoring and output features. If all three were available when I bought the 2i2, I would have spent the extra $40 on the 2i4.

You need a powered hub for the 2i2 and 2i4. Some seem to work; others don't. I use this one ($12), and it works perfectly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NB05MO
Good luck.
