Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet but the iRig fom IK Multimedia looks very exciting. Only pre order at the moment but this looks a great way to sort out so many problems when using the iPhone / iPad.

thats funny i posted a link as well in i/o uptions thread, it does look promising, and i use a lot of there software already on my pro tools set up, so i feel comfortable with their quality. i have an email in to see when they ship, and will post if i get a reply. good to know others are out looking for more options as well.
