Hello you all!
Battling with the two mics. I like how the apogee is portable, but the yeti pro seems to be a monster with sound quality. I just don't know what to get.
I must admit, i will only use an IPAD to record vocals with tracks. Apogee and Yeti pro are both 24 bit, but they have difference in KHZ. As you all know Apogee is 48 and Yeti Pro is 192khz. What do these numbers mean? Sorry for asking such a dumb question. Will this make a different with quality of the recordings? Or the IPAD can only use so much khz where it would not matter really?
Kindly let me know wat to choose and what are the KHZ for.
Thanks guys!

Re: Advice on either Yeti Pro or Apogee Mic
Both mics are very similar in quality due to being usb mics, except for the Yeti pro which also has an XLR jack so you can use it on standard audio interfaces and mixing consoles.
If you are going to use it for vocals, you may have to try both to see which fits your voice better. Chances are that the Yeti is a bit better at recording more than just vocals because it has multiple pick-up patterns which makes it useful for instruments. (cardioid, , stereo, omni & figure eight)
I have the Yeti (standard) and it is sensitive to table vibration, so best to use it on a stand.
The Yeti will also hold its value better if you should decide to sell it later.

iPad Air, Akai EIE (the red one), Griffin Studioconnect, Alesis IO Dock, Blue Yeti mic.

Re: Advice on either Yeti Pro or Apogee Mic
Hi,
I am new to this Forum and to using DAW.
I`m wondering if any of you Apogee users can please help me get setup using an Apogee Quartet with my iPhone 4. DAW seems to recognize the Apogee software but when I arm the R button there is no signal from the mic. Anyone know if there is something else I need to do? Thanks
