Two Simultaneous Devices

Post by grunshaw »

Hey guys,

Not sure about this one, but is it possible to combine USB devices with a USB Hub to get more recording channels? You know a lot like adding another sound card to a PC?

I have the Lexicon Omega and my church has the Scarlet 18i6. If it were possible to combine those two devices in DAW, I would get 12 channels to record at the exact same time.

Can this be done, or is the max number of channels you can record at any given time limited by the software? IE, can I only arm 8 channels even if it were possible to combine devices?

Thanks.

You can only have one "audio interface" hooked up at one time, but if you use a powered USB hub, you can add other things like USB keyboards or control surfaces and use them at the same time. Just not 2 audio interfaces.

Does the trick with a powered hub and audio interface + midi keyboard work on the iPhone or just the iPad?
