Bin names don't change

Post by Honeycroft »

I'm a bit confused and having some trouble with multitrack of late.

My problem is if I change the name of a recording file on main board, it doesn't change in bins.

Eg a recording on main editor screen is called recorded audio 6. I go to names and change it to "guitar part". It changes name in the main editor screen. But when I go to bins it still shows up as "recorded audio 6".

Am I missing something? I thought the name change would show everywhere. Then when I want to copy and paste to another app I would know what file I'm looking for.

You can rename both Regions, and Bins as well. The regions are what appear on the main interface, on the tracks. Multiple Regions can share the same Bin, therefore renaming a Region wont rename the Bin. You can rename the Bin, by touch-holding from within the Bin Browser.

could you maybe add the functionality such that when you rename the region, and if it is the only region that is using the bin, that it goes ahead and renames the bin to keep them in sync? that would make it a lot simpler I think. I guess the same goes for when you rename the track - it could rename the bin as well. it gets crazy managing all these tracks and bins with generic names.

I love MT!
