Static when track armed

Post by Spike99 »

I hear static whenever a track is armed. I hear it during recording, but it is not on the track in playback. It's not the cans; I've tested several pair. It's not the jack because I don't hear it when playing music otherwise through headphones.

Annoying! Any help appreciated.

iPad 4 iOS 7.1

Update 4/18/2014 There is quite a bit of discussion of static while using a mic on an iPad on Apple's discussion boards about how it happens with iOS 7+. In my testing on my system (after doing a system reset as recommend on their board) I find that the problem occurs only in MT DAW, although it did get better after the reset. It does not occur in Garageband.

I've reproduced this and will have an update for the App Store to fix it. Apologies. It looks like it affects input monitoring with projects set at 48 or 96kHz. (44 kHz projects are unaffected). Thanks for pointing it out.

Incorrect. Using an Apogee Duet, as soon as "input monitoring" is selected on 44.1 projects, MT DAW blasts static each and every time. Never happened prior to the new version.

3.4.2 was unaffected, multitrack is now at 3.4.4 and unfortunately introduced this different bug.

Seems fixed in 3.4.5.1
