MT DAW problem

Post by Konstantinos »

Hi
I purchased MT DAW a couple of days ago and I like very much the simplicity however I have some serious problems and I wasn't able to find a solution so far. I have an ipad 4 with ios 7.1.1

1. When I record using IAA I can't hear (the sound is very low) the instrument or the audio generator (tried this with multiple synths like Magellan, MicroTERA, iSEM Arctic Pro etc). The first day I could hear them when I turned "Input Monitor" on (I could hear normally through speakers) but the second day the same thing didn't work (was able to hear normal only through headphones).
Everything is ok when I record with AB. I can hear both synth and the project through speakers however if I close AB and the synth and leave MT DAW alone the speaker output is very very low again.
2. When I load a project (no matter if I used IAA or AB to record it) I have very low sound from the speakers again while the volume is in maximum, so low that its very hard to hear anything. The problem does not persists when I use my headphones, everything works ok then.
Other people don't seem to have the same problems, I dont know what is wrong. I have Auria, Cubasis ,BM2 and almost all the well known apps out there but never had any problem.
Thanks.

As far as #1, this is correct behavior, you need to turn on the Input monitor to hear the output of an instrument or generator.
The other problem seems to be happening to one other person that I know about (also on iPad 4, with 7.1.1). It works with headphones plugged in, but not the builtin ipad speaker. I think it may have something to do with another app using the wrong audio category and/or a bug with multiple apps using the audio hardware. The other customer said it might be due to an app called AD480. I tried AD480 on an iPad 4 with 7.1.1, and multitrack continued to work fine. Please let me know if you can narrow it down or an exact step by step to reproduce this.

Some things to check:

The mute slide switch on the side of the device. Make sure it's not muted! If you have the switch assigned to 'Lock Rotation', change it back to 'Mute' in the settings, and slide it to unmute.

The Headphone plug itself, clean it out. There are mechanical switches inside and it could be stuck on headphones, even with them removed. Use compressed air or small tool to get all lint out of it.

Reboot your device. Try it again while running only multitrac and nothing else.

Did you use a bluetooth output or apple tv recently? Open the music app and switch it back to internal or 'iPad' mode. The start multitrack and see if that helps.
