Intermittent crackle since update

I have been using MultiTrack DAW on my iPad Mini for about two years and have never had a problem.

Recently I updated my iPad Mini from IOS7 to IOS8 (8.0.2) and also updated MultiTrack DAW to version 3.4.8. Since the update and at random (about 3 times in half hour) there is a loud crackle which lasts for about half a second whilst either recording or playing back. In that half second the music also fades away and then comes back again to normal (no crash).

This has only started happening since the updates. It's driving me potty, any ideas please?

In iOS 8, lots of major changes went down, and overall the system is pretty fragile. You might try disabling things like email push, notifications, and try airplane mode. Try reboots, and try killing other audio apps.

I can't reproduce this, so if you can isolate it, it would be appreciated.

I will try what you suggest and see how it goes. If I find the cause, I will post it.
