Distortion using IAA and amplitube

Hi all,
I'm a pretty new user to M DAW, experienced with Logic, ProTools Studio One etc.
When I use amplitube as a plug in through IAA I get a good deal of high freq distortion, sort of a sizzle/frying noise. It's only present as long as a signal is applied (guitar producing sound, it is not present when the guitar is mute) I however do not hear this when using the same approach in GarageBand. I am using Sonoma Wireworks Guitar Jack 2 and various electrics.
Any ideas?

There is a known issue currently when using IAA with non-standard sample rates, please make sure firstly that you are using 44.1kHz for the song project samplerate.
