Can someone be so kind as to explain how to get MDAW 4.0 to loop record? I've recorded a track of several seconds but don't understand how to activate that feature and can't seem to find a menu item to do so.

Welcome KDub. You'll need to create a loop region by dragging in the Ruler at the top. Drag right in the Ruler to make the loop region, after that you can use the circle handles to adjust it. More information can be found in the Menu -> Help -> Loop Markers
