Hi all,
My wife and I are considering using Multitrack for iPad recording (we have the 3rd gen iPad), but we just have a question first.
We're going to be doing podcast vocal interview recording, outside our home studio at remote sites. We have a Shure SM58 microphone, connected to a TASCAM MK122 II USB audio interface, which in turn is connected to the iPad via a knockoff Apple Camera Connector USB adapter.
The problem we're running into, with Garageband at least, is that we can't seem to disable the iPad's internal microphone while recording, so that the only input is the external mic via the USB interface and port adapter. Does Multitrack allow the internal microphone to be disabled in this fashion?
Thanks!
record SM58 mic to iPad via audio interface?

Re: record SM58 mic to iPad via audio interface?
With a working camera connection kit and supported interface, it shouldn't be a problem. Some of the knockoff CCK's seem to be causing problems like this, I recommend only using the Apple Camera Connection Kit, and short cables.
