ok lets look here below, we have camera connection kit possible on the iphone 4.
can our dedicated daw developer or someone else try it out?
i want to get a really compact 8 channel recorder, on iphone 4 and i think its possible now.
i dropped my iphone in the ocean and got a android galaxy gs3, only to find only one app that runs multitrack audio, and with no input monitoring... im thinking of getting in iphone4 or 3gs anyway again just because of DAW
[side note:
for 2013 id rather see more here: the android platform GS3 (also replaceable battery up to 4500MAH and 64GB sd card slot!) supports USB HOST MODE with a standard OTG cable ($5) and i have working class compliant roland ua25ex 2 channel usb audio working natively powered by the phone (with phantom power off, or on if i use with a powered hub). and even though audio is ignored by official google demons, there is already low latency workarounds with root and userland drivers being developed from scratch.]
iConnectionKit runs the Apogee One but they only have a ipod touch 4g

and here we see its tested with midi keyboard as of november:

whereas this tool seems to be behind a bit

and scroll down and heres a tester who shows how to use it:
It works, just not perfectly.
Here's my specs:
iPhone 4, iOS 5.0, CameraConnector purchased from Cydia, original Apple Camera Connection Kit.
1. You need to jailbreak your iPhone.
2. You need to install Cydia.
3. In Cydia, search for CameraConnector app
4. After install CameraConnector, make sure you turn your iPhone off, and then turn it back on.
5. If your phone is tethered, make sure you use RedSn0w to boot tethered.
6. NOW, once your iPhone is restarted, when you plug in your CCK, the "the accessory is not supported" message should not appear anymore.
7. Now, when you plug your usb device in, you should see "Cannot use device, The connected USB device is not supported" - This means your usb device IS indeed working!
8. Most importantly, do not plug the Camera Connection Kit out when changing USB devices, just plug out the USB device if you need to swap devices.
9. Once you plug the Camera Connection Kit out, you HAVE TO REBOOT your iPhone (and reboot using Cydia if your iPhone jailbreak is tethered)

Re: iphone 4 camera connection live now
I downloaded the app, and I noticed it is lagging a little bit. Do you have plans on releasing an update any time soon to clear the bugs up?
Perry - I am shopping for new phone service and would like to hear more about Magic Jack Plus. Any info would be great!

Re: iphone 4 camera connection live now
There shouldn't be any lag, in fact multitrack has the lowest latency possible on an iOS device. Please try rebooting your device, sometimes this will be an issue with CoreAudio. I'm currently tracking a couple of low priority bugs, there shouldn't be any major issues. Can you be more specific?Perry wrote:I downloaded the app, and I noticed it is lagging a little bit. I don't know about Dead, but I personally can't install jailbreaks. I must keep all my devices as stock, so I wouldn't be able to test this for you.
