Recording and posting live shows
I'm recording stereo into this iPad from the soundboard via subouts to the headphone jack and everything is working great! I love the effects and all. But, the sharing part is giving me a bit if a headache. I've sliced and renamed all of the songs in the super long (120minute set) and cut out the fat and so on. I've been trying to upload them onto soundcloud and archive.org with little to no success. Has anybody had any luck with anything like this? I'd appreciate any pointers.

How are you getting a signal into the headphone jack?
iPad Air, Akai EIE (the red one), Griffin Studioconnect, Alesis IO Dock, Blue Yeti mic.

It sounds like you trimmed the "regions" within a single super long song. You'll need to copy a region, open a new song and paste, for each of those regions so you end up with a bunch of actual songs. Which are much shorter and soundcloud can deal with.

As soon as you plug an eight inch jack into the headphone set it recognizes/ switches to what the program calls "headphone mic". We simply run a left and right out of our soundboard into an irig then an iPad.martygras wrote:How are you getting a signal into the headphone jack?
Yep. It's basically a super long song. And that is the answer I feared. Thank you anyhow.

August, where did you get an 8 inch jack? (Didn't they open for Nine Inch Nails?)
Just kidding...
But seriously.
If you are going out of you mixer in stereo, (2 channels) then only one output is being registered as an analog audio signal in the iPad unless you are combining the outputs of your mixer (summing).
If that is the case then be careful. There is a very good possibility that you can burn the output circuitry of the mixer.
Either way, you are not getting the optimal signal into the iPad. I would recommend an Alesis IO Dock or Focusrite audio interface so you can get even better sound quality.
Good luck in you recording endeavors.

Re: Recording and posting live shows
I have a question about the "really long song". I purchased a Behringer istudio dock for my iPad and am going to use it to record my internet radio shows. I am going to be recording two tracks from one stereo feed out of my telephone hybrid box (it's what I use for the radio show). I am splitting the feed using a 1/8" into two 1/4" TRS plugs. Those two TRS plugs will go into my Behringer. I want to record two tracks because one side of the feed has my voice and the other side has the callers. I would like to edit each separately and with different processing.
Assuming this will work, I will be recording my whole one hour show as "one long song." Am I going to be running into an issues by doing this? I want to be able to save the show as a MP3 and share it in Dropbox. Then I want the option to load it into a DAW like Ableton and do more editing on my desktop. The setup I mentioned above will be for capturing my remote shows. What issues will I run into if any?
Lastly can I easily do punch ins with this app? I want to be able to punch in a new intro with a different radio call sign or punch in a different sponsor reference in the middle, etc. I want to use the same file saved several times with different intros and ads for different radio markets. Make sense? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
