iPhone 5s...no output...esp. .wav files

Just recorded something on my iPhone 5s through Apogee Duet for iPad/iPhone. Emailed the .wav to myself. Downloaded the .wav file in my Mail app and it won't play through the iPhone speaker. It does, however, play if I stream it (from the phone) via Bluetooth to a bluetooth audio device. I tried opening the .wav on my iPad and it played just fine. What gives? Has anyone ever heard of this? Also, if I open the app on my iPhone and try to stream the session over iPhone speaker...nothing. I can see the output meter moving with audio, but don't hear anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think this has to do with phasing problems, ie. left and right are out of phase and cancel when played on a mono system. What did you recording into? Directly into multitrack?
