Compressor During Input Monitoring

Post by ayampols »

I am using MT DAW version 3.4.5.1. If I am not mistaken, the compressor is not behaving properly. To reproduce:
  • 1.Create a new song, new track, input monitoring on. Use the built-in device microphone as the input.
    2. Arm the track.
    3. Select FX, enable the compressor. Threshold -45 dB, ratio 100:1.
    4. Snap your fingers or make some loud noises with distinct attacks -- pin the track input meter, don't be shy!
What is the compressor doing? It is unclear. It maybe will show a decibel or two of reduction, but hundreds of milliseconds after the signal.

Am I doing something wrong, or is the comp totally knackered?

I see what you're talking about. Fortunately the compressor is working, but the lights aren't registering when monitoring an input signal. I'll look closer at the code.
