Since this is quite easy to get under Windows, the same question here.
How can I capture audio out? Let say that an application (not inter-app compatible, like Bloom) plays a sound, and I'd like to record it. Should be possible to caputure digital stream that goes to speakers. How?
Apple doesn't allow it on iOS, which is the reason why we created Audiobus, and then later came Inter-app audio. In fact iOS8 might disable mach ports, which means IAA is the only way to do audio between apps (Audiobus uses IAA in the latest version). This is actually a good thing, it achieves the lowest possible latency.
So different question. Would folks who produce these little cool apps (like bloom or aura flux) - will they have a lot of work (level of difficulty) in order to upgrade their apps?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but after a week of playing with this platform - I'm having the impression, that only about 15% of the iphone'ish hardware/iOS is reallly effectively used by now.
Audiobus is extremely easy to integrate. IAA, not so much. You might try contacting those app makers and ask that the support Audiobus, there is really no good reason I can think of not to support it, they would probably increase their sales as well.
I did contacted them yesterday. Different matter is whether they decide respond.
It would be interesting to have a section on the website/forum, where various generative stuff could be listed and discussed in one place. Maybe such step would bring such folks closer together, like we have on our dev platform.
BTW (somehow related) - is there currently any small interface available with stereo input and direct Lightening connector?
