Greetings, I am a newbie so please be gentle.
We have a gig coming up on Friday that I am wanting to record. We use a Mackie 1640 (16 channel) mixing board that includes the following FireWire card:

I have 2 questions:
1. My understanding is that with this FireWire interface card I will not need another piece of hardware. Is that correct?
2. I will be recording on an iPad air. I was hoping that Apple (or someone) would have a "FireWire to lightning" adapter, but a Google search didn't turn anything up. So my question is how do I get from the FireWire output to the iPad.
Thank you

Firewire isn't supported on iPad/iPhone. You'll have to use a USB interface and the 'Lightning to USB camera adapter'. It may be possible to use some kind of firewire to usb adapter, and then on to the lightning to usb adapter, however I've never heard of this working.
