Hey folks,
If anyone can answer this it'd be much appreciated. I'd like to be able to use the apple earbuds as a monitor through the iPhone headphone jack, but record into the iphone's mic or peripheral mic, but it tends to use the earbud mic instead. Is it possible to configure it with the earbuds monitoring and the iPhone mic recording?
Thanks.
Listen with earbuds, record with iPhone mic?

Not possible with the headset, but possible if you just use plain headphones (without a mic). Apple has disabled all control over input selection, what you get is (usually) the thing that was plugged in last, and splitting of devices is not even an option.

I figured that may be the case. Good to know that headphones without a mic will work though.
Thanks. Awesome program!

As a workaround, you can run the headset/earbuds into a headphone adapter. That will disable the mic on the headset, since it won't be connected, and the iPhone will continue to use the built-in mic.
Be sure it's a standard 3-contact stereo headphone adapter, and not one with 4-contacts.
Here's a link to the one I use:
