Has anyone been able to successfully use the Footswitch feature of the ioDock with MultiTrack? I've connected every type of pedal I own to it and I can't get MT to recognize that it's being pressed. I'd really like to be able to use it for either start/stop or even more importantly, Punch In/Out.
Thanks.

Re: Alesis ioDock Footswitch
Hello,
This is my first post. I love MT.
I wanted to Bump this topic. I am also very interested in using the Footswitch feature. Thanks!

Re: Alesis ioDock Footswitch
OK here's what I've gathered from around the interwebs, hopefully it is accurate:
The IO Dock only has one footswitch jack but, it allows the use of two footswitch pedals simultaneously.
You can attach two (TS) footswitches to the IO Dock by connecting them to a stereo (TRS) splitter.
(TS) = tip/sleeve
(TRS) = tip/ring/sleeve
This is basically a stereo "Y" adapter that has two female 1/4" (TS) jacks, (sometimes labelled left & right) and one male 1/4" (TRS) plug.
Footswitch 1 is for use with a latching or "toggle" type of footswitch.
The IO Dock sends a MIDI Start (250) when the footswitch is toggled on, and a MIDI Stop (252) when the footswitch is toggled off.
Footswitch 2 is for a non-latching or "momentary" type of footswitch.
The IO Dock sends a MIDI continuous controller command. (CC#63)
When footswitch 2 is pressed, the IO Dock sends a value of 127, and a value of 0 when released.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Additional info:
The Alesis IO Dock Quickstart Guide indicates that footswitch 2 sends CC#63 but I've found a few posts where people are reporting that it is actually CC#64, which corresponds to the "Damper Pedal".
Is Alesis' documentation wrong?
Footswitch 2 workaround:
If you want to use only footswitch 2, and don't have access to a "Y" adapter, you can insert the non-latching footswitch all the way into the IO Dock's footswitch connector and then back it out one click.
I'm still trying to figure out which apps support the footswitches, so if you know of any please post them.
